A Spooktacular Halloween Race Night for all the family will headline half-term celebrations at Sunderland Greyhound Stadium this month.

Racegoers young and old are invited to the Newcastle Road venue on Tuesday, October 28, where a host of family-friendly activities are planned to mark spooky season.

Seasonal entertainment, a fancy dress competition and a chance to get up close and personal to the stars of the track will compliment 12 live races with the action getting underway shortly after 6.30pm.

A £20 Family Bundle has been launched to offer entry for two adults and two U18s. The package includes admission for all four racegoers, plus two promotional drinks for each adult and goody bags for children and a race card.

Joanne Wilson, General Manager at Sunderland Greyhound Stadium, said: “As we move into October, we’re already looking forward to our Halloween-themed race night towards the end of the month.

“There’ll be a range of activities for all the family and a good night will be had by all whether it’s your first time trackside or if you’re a regular visitor to our stadium.

“We’re always keen to engage with new audiences and welcome new people here at Sunderland Greyhound Stadium, and that’s exactly the case for this Halloween night.

“Greyhound racing offers a fabulous evening out for all of the family, and we hope to see a bumper crowd later this month.”

Racegoers looking to make their night extra special can also sponsor a race for just £60.

The package includes the opportunity to name the race, and be at the heart of the trophy presentation. It also includes a commemorative photography, and a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine.

Tickets for Sunderland Stadium’s Halloween race night on Tuesday, October 28, are available online via www.sunderland-greyhounds.co.uk. Doors open at 5.30pm with the first of 12 races off at 6.37pm.

Racing will continue at Sunderland Stadium on Tuesday and Friday evenings, plus Sunday day time, for the remainder of 2025. The track will host its second Category One competition next month when the £20,000 Premier Greyhound Racing Classic returns on Friday, November 21.
